We had two new attendees (thank you, \t\t\tArmadilloCon). One person submitted comments via email. The meeting was  \t\t\theld at the home of Judy Strange and Jeff Hurst in North Austin. \t\t\tSold as SF and marketed as a biblio-mystery, this book throughly \t\t\tamused and entertained some readers and confused others. Comparisons \t\t\twere made to the work of Gene Wolfe and Monty Python,<!--more--> which proves \t\t\thow much territory this book covered. Some of the group had read \t\t\tJane Eyre, but those who hadn&#8217;t didn&#8217;t feel that got in the way \t\t\tof enjoying the book. But those who had felt they recognized many \t\t\tof the references tended to be more positive in their review than \t\t\tothers. They enjoyed the hectic pace and clever connections. For \t\t\tsome people the plot was too much at once, convoluted rather \t\t\tthan intricate. Others likened it to watching Roman candles, describing \t\t\tit as a neat display with no plot. Another said it &#8220;zinged all over \t\t\tthe place.&#8221; Regardless of whether they liked the book as a whole, \t\t\teveryone liked the puns.
