SMoFCon Scholarship

FACT has approved two $250 scholarships available to members for attending SMoFCon, an educational convention where those interested in becoming more active in ArmadilloCon and the other conventions promoting speculative fiction in central Texas can learn the logistics of the process and confer with experienced convention planners. The purpose of the scholarship is to help offset the cost of attending the convention.

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must be a member in good standing of FACT. Applications must be received by no later than 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 9 October 2008. Applicants may use the form below, or request a printed copy of the questionnaire by calling 512-402-5298 or e-mailing .

Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee, and the recipients will be notified by Monday, 13 October 2008.

1. Preference will be given to individuals who have not received a scholarship in the past, and who have clear ideas how their attendance at the convention will benefit FACT.
2. The committee reserves the right to award no scholarships.
3. Current members of the FACT board of directors and/or the scholarship committee are not eligible.
